Josh was born and raised in Chesterfield, Virginia and grew up hunting a family owned farm with his immediate family and cousins in nearby Cumberland County. He credits his passion for the outdoors to his father, grandfather, and his cousin, Wayne, who took turns taking him out in the field whenever they could.

He graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2006, where he studied Digital Media, learning graphic design, web design, and concentrated on video editing. He met several friends at ETSU with nearby hunting properties, and the guys began videoing hunts to share with one another. Josh edited the videos, and posted them to a website he created to show friends and family.

In 2009, Josh met Kip and Kat through a family acquaintance. He was contracted to design the website for Season II, and was able to show Kip some of his work from the past few years running a camera and editing hunts. After helping out with some motion graphics and editing on Season II, Josh was hired on full time with Red Arrow TV as a camera man, graphic designer, and editor.
